The site sure has been quiet lately. This is a direct result of me "hard at work" on school stuff as the final stretch of my junior year of high school approaches. Finals, AP/IB Exams, Essays, Projects... it's all overwhelming. And I must say, April 27th did sneak up on me. Before I knew it, Mario Kart Wii was coming out. Whoa, already?! What was Nintendo thinking releasing 2 huge big name AAA titles within 2 months? Well, I won't question it, even though I sorta just did. ANYWAY, with a new game, comes a new video... actually I just made that up. But seriously though, I am a big fan of Mario Kart. And the latest installment comes with a Wii Wheel (Yes, that's right, "Wii Wheel"... just say that out loud - it's quite awkward to say)! So, when school is finally out, the trio behind the films will once again pull out another video, tentatively titled "Mario Kart Mayhem". It should be great, and funny as always. I look forward to making it.So, you are now wondering, what the title of the post is about. When I said that the 27th sneaked up on me, I wasn't kidding. I knew my local Sam's was opening at midnight to sell the game (for $44.66) and extra wheels (for $8.66), so I thought (5 hours before midnight), why not grab my pals and shoot something there to see what happens?! The end result is a now-dubbed PREQUEL to the next NB video - click here. :]
... to the videos, that is. Ha, yes. The site, NintendoBoy.com, is about my videos. However the last time I released a video (Timebomb) was on December 31st, 2007, but I couldn't get it uploaded online until the first of 2008. Heh, you could say it took a year to do. Or not. Eh, I'm just writing all this on the blog post as it comes to me. I like doing posts this way because I feel like it's first off, easy reading, and also because I like the updates to have sort of a laid back feel. I think that I somewhat achieve that, no? I mean, you are reading this right now and have made it this far, haha! Uh, so anyway, what was I saying?? Oh right, the videos...!Yeah, so it's been up since last Friday, April 11th. It's gotten over 200 hits on YouTube in less than a week. Not bad for a site which hadn't released any new content since January 1st this year. Ah well. So, "Troubleshooting". The first new video since the trilogy. Wow. Haha. You could say that there have been some good improvements. I really had a great time filming with Josh Indech and Andrew Shain. Indech is one of my best buds at school and with band geek stuff, and Shain is also the same, but a bit odd. Ha, he'll never read that. He's funny, and his camera and spiffy Mac proved to be an ally whilst making the film. I had originally planned to write a script and make this video an extremely awesome comeback for the site, but eh, to say the least I was lazy. So, I headed over to Shain's house script-less (but with great plans in my head... haha) to take on this project we'd finally make time for. As you can probably notice, things went really well. Yeah, the video is not perfect, and things could (and probably should) of been changed, but it was an oh-so-satisifying thing for me when completed. After all, this is what this unusually colorful website is all about, right?! So, with that being said... and hopefully seen, what do you think? The video on YouTube has seen some great comments so far, so thanks guys! The video is on the home page until the next video (which I do plan to work on soon) comes, and of course the videos will always have a spot at The Nintendo Boy Project page. There was a thread stated in the forums about a Q&A of the video, so feel free to look at that. And, so uh yeah, I think that's it. Hey, I needed to make a formal post about the video, but again, a combination of laziness and other-things-to-do-ness kept me from doing it earlier... better late then never, right? :]
Jeff finally opens his Wii, but he runs into trouble setting it up. However, he is determined to play it and goes to crazy lengths to get his way!

The English philospher William of Ockham came up with a principle. He said that shortest way of saying something is the best. Or more specifically, the simplest answer to a question is always the best. He called it "Ochkam's Razor". So, I shall say what I need to say in the shortest way possible:There's a new Nintendo Boy video coming this weekend.
Could you say it any better? Probably, but no matter. The main bullet point to take away from is that, finally, since the first day of this year, I have another video for you. Stick around the site, as it will pop-up soon on the home page! Aren't you excited?! Look how excited I am in this picture! :]
Oh, and also, did you know you can now support the site and get something in return?!
Ah, and more thing. I'm debating about whether or not to continue the Adventure Plot. It was fun to make, but the turnout was low. I don't want to waste my time! Heh, also, did you not love my last blog post?! The really helpful link, and the whole "APRIL FOOLS" message with the first letter of every paragraph... hah, did you notice that first time around??
BUT, anyway, um... yeah. New video. Finally. The first new and improved (yes, new AND improved - how can that be??) video since the triology. Look forward to it. :]
The video will be so very different from what you're probably expecting. It has more than one person in it! Yay, I have friends! Haha. Also, I will be using iMovie to make this film rather than the nice, but limited Windows Movie Maker. Be sure to expect some music, sticky situations, and a whole lotta Nintendo-goodness. Well, Wii goodness in this case. After all, in the last video #1.3, a bomb kinda destroyed everything. Realizing it may of been a BIT difficult to jump off from that, I'm leaning toward a sequel of 1.1 & 1.2. What happens when Nintendo Boy finally gets his Wii, and can actually play it in peace. Yeah, it's going to be awesome. Or at least, I hope it will be. I look forward to when the video is live... ahhh, the anticipation is killing me! And, hopefully you too. Well, I don't want you dead... but, you know what I mean...! Right?! :]
UPDATE 4.11.08: The video is now up! Click "Home" on the navigation bar for the link to YouTube...!
Ah, I'll be honest here: it's not really a clue. If you read the words after "Clue #2", you can now see that I have given up on you. I was very impressed by Mr. Adam Terrell, who managed to take on the first chapter! I had some others get it, but I know they had help because I know who they are, but ANYWAY...
People, is it really that hard?! I mean, someone who did not know how my plot worked managed to find the answer minutes after I posted Clue #1. So, eh, I really can't believe it. I have lost faith in my community. ;_; haha, not really, but c'mon!
Right, soo anyway, I've decided to post the answer and explanation to the first chapter. By doing this, I hope you come to see how the plot works, maybe you'll be a bit surprised on how my game works and will have interest in chapter 2?!
I thought that this would be a big hit, and I think it still can be. My pal Laura enjoyed making the comic for the site, and I don't want that to go to waste! *hint hint* The Comic!
Listen, if you still haven't figured it out by now, the secret is IN the comic. There, I will consider that the second clue. Do you still want to see the answer, or do you want to give the plot a second chance??
Finding the secret is easy if you think common sense. What are you trying to do? What was the mission? You want to know what's inside the box, right? Well???!
Oh, I can see the expression on your face! Aha, yeah, you have an idea, but you think it may be wrong. What do you have to lose? Go ahead and try your idea! It's not going to cost you anything!
Ooops, have I said to much? I think my pal over at adamterrell.com feels the game has become unbalanced; don't worry, I'll remember you were the first to complete it without my generous hints! You shall be honored when the plot is over - if anyone can finish it!
Last, but not least, er, the thing I promised at the beginning of this awkwardly long blog post - the answer??! You just can't help it, huh? You know, curiosity killed the cat, but I assume you are not a cat, so I think it's okay, I suppose.
So, here you go! (are you sure you want to skip the fun of finding out??) :]
» Ch.1 Answer (for those who insist): http://www.nintendoboy.com/ch1answerplot.htm
... or, at least, that's how it seems. I still get a surprisingly lot of people that come and go here, and by a 'surprisingly lot of people' I mean around 50 people per day. Hey, that's not bad right? Most of them are my friends whom I advertise to, but haha, yeah. You'd think that by now someone would have finished the adventure plot that I finally finished. Or maybe it's because no one can figure out the plot?? Whatever the case, let's take a look at my first clue! (maybe you just haven't been here recently... yeah, that's it) :]
Clue #1: Let's hope this is the only clue I have to throw out there. Feel free to discuss in the comments of this post. Okay, so let's think about this. What can we work with? Nintendo Boy found a Wii box, but no Wii in it? Hmm, that's odd, seeing as the end of the comic shows that NB is holding a Wii. Was it fake? How could he of not known?? Well, it doesn't matter now. All we now know is that something else was in that box. YOU need to find out what that was to go on to the second chapter. Think: You have the Wii box. If you wanted to know what was inside, how would you figure that out?: Occam's Razor states that the simplest answer is always the best. So, you should have an idea. I say it's common sense. I think you should go somewhere on the site (you should know where) and do what you're thinking! Who knows, you may hopefully be right!
No, really, I actually finished phase one of the adventure plot. Haha, go see for yourself! So, yea, if you are a regular visitor of the site, I'm sure you've seen the "Adventure Plot" link floating around the site, yet nothing was really attached to it; I said I would work on it and blah blah blah, but HEY, that day has finally come! So, you're probably wondering what I'm talking about if you... don't know what I'm talking about, so why not head over to the Adventure Plot page using the above links??! Come Saturday, your adventure here, unravels...Perhaps the adventure plot does not meet your fancy? The new Nintendo Boy film is finally in the works and will be out early next month (that's not long!) :] But uh, more details on that later. Also, I have fixed up the community page a good bit, as I combined the game room into it. Go check it out and tell me what you think, but it may be a little buggy so you find any oddities, let me know. So, yeah, that's that. Have a great weekend, and I'll see ya on Saturday for the first chapter of the plot! :]
*inhales* Ahhh, can't ya just smell it? I can, mainly because I did all of the spring cleaning. And by cleaning, I mean the site. :] Yes, there changes I have mentioned in my previous blog post "Re-Do", have been more or less completed. The sense of accomplishment... the feeling is a good one! Let's take a look at some renovations:
A simpler home page - one spiffy-looking drawing and one easy "enter" button
'Adventure Plot' - ... er, right, I really wanna do this soon, haha, but I have great ideas for it
Absense of Razorswitch - like I said, still in the works, but will have it's own site
Cleaner 'NintendoBoy' page - yes, click there to find a history lesson and the films
'Contact Me' page - the link moved from the navigation bar to the 'all about me' page
'Game Room' - yes, now easier to find... it has it's own space on the navi bar
Speaking of the game room, I *finally* added a new game, which is a classic Zelda game... fans of the SNES/GBA games will like this one. :] But anyway, yea, I did some spring cleaning around the hous- er, website (well, it's still winter... eh). I hope you like the new features and that the site is easier to navigate for you. But really, this is just clean... currently there really is no new content; I am currently working on that. Haha, so in the mean time, play some games. Oh, and happy St. Patrick's Day! :]
Er, yeah, another makeover. Well, not really. Behind the scenes, it was decided that Razorswitch would have it's own site. Apparently there is a game in the works with the series, so my buddy over at Pokemon Munrock will go ahead and design a website for Razorswitch. I figure I like this idea because, well, I mean, this is NINTENDOBOY.com, and when I added a new project to the same site, it just lost meaning. Plus I didn't have anything to put up yet, and who knows when it will happen. All I know is on my end, I am going to fix up the site again to just accommodate the Nintendo Boy Project with the films. I shall still let you know progress on RS, but that will again, be on a different site; I mean, I'm still a part of it and such, just not on this site. So, long story short, this site shall revert back to it's original plan of the character of Nintendo Boy. I don't want to confuse anyone... that being said, I must fix up the home page and other oddities... *must get away from Brawl...!* I will hopefully have something new by the weekend, so stay tuned!
EDIT: (3.16.08) Hey, I'm glad you all liked my Pi Day post, but it took the page to long to load, so sorry. ^^; ... 3.14, there is that good enough?
I shall make a more formal post later this week, but for now, I'm just happy to FINALLY have Brawl, and I'm sure you are too (if you have a Wii). :] I was the first person to get Brawl at my local Gamestop, but that's only because I stood first in line at the counter most of the time since I lost early in the second round tourney. I was killed by Luigi as Link in Super Sudden Death... ah, the fun times. And, when I got home, wi-fi was packed with people, and the lag wasn't really that bad for me; it's Brawl, the game that lived up to it's hype! Also, I am thinking of doing an online tourney with a prize of a Wii points card, all via this site, sound fun? Well, if you wanna battle with me via wi-fi, leave your friend code & email here in the comments, and I can get back to you shortly. :] Happy brawling!
