The Trials & Errors of HD

I sit here, in front of my computer, with a smug look on my face. I have recently graduated from high school (Class of '09!), and it is now summer! And with summer, comes a lot of free time... free time that will not be wasted... because there is a project that needs feeding... the Nintendo Boy Project! This summer will be a milestone for me because I have something now that will enhance us in the ranks of those top films you see on YouTube... well, not really, but our videos are gonna be amazing! Gahhhh, I'm getting excited just thinking about it!! [:HD. Two letters, yet so very powerful. I told you that I had recently graduated. My parents bought me a $600 Sony HD Handycam video recorder... to the say the least, it is quite aesthetically pleasing! This is the exact piece of equipment I've been dying for ever since I started making videos. We had the will, and there was a way, but we needed better mediums of making better quality films. Although what we had before wasn't so bad, don't you agree? Sooo yes... HD is now possible for my videos!! I'm so excited! But wow, it was not easy to get where I am now...

My adventure. Two words, yet so meaningless. Let me explain! Haha. I don't know what made it so difficult for me to figure it out, as I consider myself quite a wiz at these types of things. But not this time. Sony had me. Maybe it's because I'm NINTENDO BOY and not SONY BOY? Ehh, who knows. Haha, either way, I was determined to figure out how everything worked without reading the instructions. LAL, just kidding. I did read it... not much helped. After almost 3 days of working the super nice camera with amazing picture, and the Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platnium Premium Pro Pack (that's alotta P's), I have finally figured out how to best save the movie projects I work on when I edit. It's something like HDV 1080pi with some other letters and numbers that I can't remember. But after sooo many test uploads to YouTube (as well as test conversions to .mov for our new podcast), I finally got it. And our videos completely fit the YouTube widescreen player!!!! Yay! All the right settings. The perfect combination of behind-the-scene setups to have the finished video project very pleasing to watch. Nintendo Boy... from here on out.. will be in High-Definition, thanks to YouTube as well! :] Woot. Woot. lol. (:

I'm really excited about getting back into the swing of things. I doubt anyone is even reading this (well, I guess YOU are... thanks!!) since the site has been dead for almost half a year in terms of videos... and well, the rest of the site has had its share of cobwebs. Well, it's the summer now, so it's time to bring this back to life... and this time, in HD. My goal is to have a new video every week, more, if possible. I want to flood the video gallery with our pretty faces and witty lines... did I mention, which will be in HD?! Stay tuned for a new video at the end of the week... it's gonna be amazing!! I promise... stick around and watch this site come back aaaalllliivvvveeee!!!! (thumbs up)

So Close, Yet So Far Away

GEEZ! What's with the lack of updates on this site? I check it everyday! And my moderators are lacking in the BLOG department. LAL. Welll, let's see, what to tell you? Well I guess I'll go back from the last post. Man, almost a month ago. Doesn't feel like it. Okay, so. Some new things... as I'm sure you've seen I have a twitter on the home page so you can keep track of me slash stalk me (preferably NOT the latter). If you've been keeping up, I'm not dead and am actually quite active on the world wide web. Perhaps you caught the tweet of me talking about filming in FL? Of course you do! Well that actually happened! Not even kidding. I got some filming done on a neat location, and I hope it will one day see the light... of YouTube. Haha. The filming I took would be the ending for a new video series I want to do... but it's in the very early stages of... well, thinking. Ehhh. We'll see. :)

Alright... sooo some more news related to the blog post title... maybe not as uplifting... but anyway... NEW YORK! I know I didn't blog about it, but it was on my twitter (tee hee)! The trip has come and gone... and... I'm sad to say that I was not able to enter the Nintendo World Store. :( When we had time to shop around Times Square, I managed to snap up the photo you see here of the Rockefeller Center, but it was not in our pre-determined perimeter of our shopping spree. D: So like I said... SO close!!! I didn't even get to see the store with my own eyes. *tear* But I did spend my time with someone special! :]

Oh well... maybe the Nintendo World Store isn't ready for Nintendo Boy... who knows. x.x Ehhh, so more news. I have 3 (THAT'S RIGHT, THREE) new scripts for possible new videos that I would like to shoot, but what do you care? All you want is results. My goal is to have the first one up before May. Cross your fingers!! Oh, and I have been working on a little neat thing for you iPod fans... it's been so frustrating, but I think I may have it down... all of you with your iTunes, and your fancy iPods will soon be able to carry The Nintendo Boy Project with you on the go via our brand new Video Podcast, free! (Haha, but who is gonna want that, honestly?)

Some Idealistic Future

Grrr... what's next? Maybe that's what you're thinking. I'm thinking it too. The site, if you're a regular, has been dead for weeks. However I can not emphasis enough of the fact that I view, login, and manage this site everyday. This is my pride and joy. (awkward silence) I have been thinking of completely re-designing the site, but that's a whole 'nother project on it's own. But ergh, getting away from tangents... so yeah, nothing new since the Rock Band video. Pretty sad, huh? I would probably go on to rant that I am a senior in high school, taking IB and AP classes and focusing in on college stuff, and asking you to imagine my crazy schedule, but you probably wouldn't care. :P It's... no excuse, right? Blahhh, so anyway. Videos. Man, I cry myself to sleep every night a new video isn't on the site. And guess what? WE WERE SO CLOSE TO RELEASING A NEW ONE. This video would have made history. It was a music video. I wanted to open a new category on the project page called "Music Videos," to join along side "Sketch Comedy." This video was about Nintendo Boy and Nintendo Girl getting into a fight, to the song of Nothing Better by The Postal Service. If you're wondering about the picture, that was a screenshot of the film you'll never see (well maybe on an upcoming DVD in the "deleted scenes"... LOL) , and there's a line that says "Don't you feed me lies about some idealistic future," which then cues the shot of the Scrabble board. Haha. And then our names and the site name was just a random touch. ERRRRRRR, but anyway, so we have so much filming on this. Like I seriously want to show you guys, and to be honest, I've seriously sat and thought long and hard on ways of how I could release this mess of clips of very well-shot scenes to us just goofing around, but I really couldn't come up with anything. Oh well? (hint hint: you guys have any ideas?) Ok, so the main gist is that in the editing process, there are some parts where either Megan or I sang too fast and the syncing up of the audio would not end up working, and pretty much the editing of this video as a whole would actually be impossible. However, I learned a lot about approaching the directing in a whole new way, and I think I may have a better idea of handling the NB shoots.

I'm writing this out to you on a Friday night. It's been a long week at school for me. Next week, all juniors are taking the Georgia High School Graduation Test (ie half-days for everyone else BUT juniors), and then, SPRING BREAK, and then NEW YORK BAND TRIP! ... I really don't know why I said all that. ...*2 minute break* ... You know, now that I read over this small random paragraph again, it's actually technically Saturday morning? I dunno. Well anyway, this weekend I do plan to try another video so I can push out an update for the project, as well as continue to work on actual site related things that you may never even notice. Why do I do it? I don't even know.

And... the beginning of the previous paragraph made me remember to mention that I am actually building a personal site of mine that will be seperate from this site, but will be integrated at the same time with NintendoBo- ahh, no no! You'll see, you'll see!! Haha! I will also be picking up on the twitter craze, so if you're into that, follow me! Anyway, please stick around. I know the site has been dead, but we are still here, alive and well. :)

Rant

Written by: Laura

HELLO everyone!

Rant is not only the name of my new phone (yey!) but also a fitting title for this post because I will be talking about a few things that are new to the site. I promise it won't be long so please read it thoroughly.

First off, the Photo App got recently updated, which means that any member can now post their own pictures to the site! Yey!! now you guys can put up appropriate material to the site under your profile so you get the credit. Which brings me to my next point, which are the comics that I drew like ages ago it seems, they do in fact still exist in case you were wondering (yeah right) and Jeff insisted that I put them under my name since he is all about giving 'full' credit to people. Also there is a new little group of comics that are being developed, I'm not really sure when they'll be up but I'm sure they are going to be fantastic!! Better than mine so yeah look out for those. There also might be some new and obscure drawing coming to the site as well no one really knows about it but it will hopefully be a pleasant surprise. AquiloComix also has some things planned out for NB.com so look out for those too. And I think thats all, wow this blog was shorter than I expected, but it's better for you guys since you don't have to sit here and read all the stuff I have to say! x]

Well that being said I hope you guys enjoy the new enhancements to the site and use them because they sure are interesting; and once again be on the lookout for the new content coming your way!!!

Enhancements to the Site

Hey everyone!! Whew, when was the last time we had a nice site feature update? You have to admit though, the site has come a long way!! Anyway, I've finally gotten around to cleaning up some things and adding little things here and there, as well as my webhost Webs adding new features to the forums! If you are regular visitor, you may slash may not have noticed some things already, but either way... let's take a look at some bullets! :D

  • Okay, so you probably have noticed an advertisement on the SideBar. Yeahhhh! It's been there for a while, and it's actually racking in some money. Slowly, but surely, we'll get there. :) Help the site out by clicking the ads, or even check out our webstore! (yes, we have one)

  • Remember that blog post a while back about my hatred for Internet Explorer? I complained about a glitch on the About Us page that only showed up in IE. Well, I finally solved that problem by placing the images in a table, so now that page is finally cross-browser friendly.

  • The Video Theater has received some small tweaks so that the video descriptions on the site match exactly on the YouTube direct video page (that took a while!!). The YouTube description boxes now have links to the site for the comics (1.1-1.3)! Also, as a nice added bonus in the Video Theater that every NB video now has a link to the blog post that accompanied it when it was released. I think that's pretty cool, huh? It shows how much we've evolved, plus showed what I was blabbing about at the time of the videos!

Woahhh... okay, so I think I defeated the purpose of bullets by writing a little TOO much. Haha, sorry! I'm sure you guys get the idea. Speaking of the last bullet, a new video, is on the way in the next few days. I'm not kidding!! Last week was a failure, but this weekend we will be filming, and we hopefully will be soon adding another fantastic COUGH video to our Sketch Comedy gallery.

Until that new video, see you then. Have a fabulous weekend!! :)

NIntendoboy and Jinx have had many meetings conferences brainstorm meetings and such our brains have run away fror a vacation. I do not have very much of an idea of what exactly it will be about but we are finally going to film the next video. We are actually writing a script, introducing plot (maybe), and introducing new characters! Do not look for it this weekend cause that is when we will be working on it but keep an eye out for it this next week. On top of that we have our new comics by Eizell. Thats all i have time to say this coming week should be full of fun and laughs. Have a great weekend!

[Edit - March 1st, 2009: technical difficulties]

Because of weather, plagarists, writer's block, and lack of funds the internetdinosaur site will be going under serious reconstructions and reinforcement and there willl not be a new video, comic or any update for that matter. F*#! you Clear Vision Comics and "the-most-awkward-website-name-to remember-ever-because-of-length". I censor myself for the kids. :3

Yay!

Written by: Eizell

Okay! So.

Since Jeff keeps insisting that I post a blog on this site, I've dicided to do so!

I guess to start off with is telling you all who in the heck I am, right? My name is Ellie, but online I usually go by Eizell. I honestly don't care what you decide to refer to me as, so don't feel obligated to call me by one or the other.

I haven't been on this site for to long but from what I've observed, there's hardly any activity, if any. Since I even joined this site, I haven't really seen any new topics aside from maybe two or three.

BUT! Sooner or later (hopefully sooner) I'll have the first strip of the new Nintendo Boy adventures comic ready to be posted on here somewhere (Where ever Jeff wants to put it). It's looking like the strips will stay as pencil sketched comics for a while since I currently don't have Photoshop and I'm too lazy/busy to ink and color it. Not to mention all my micron pens and Prisma markers are all dried up and dying :<

Annnnnd I guess the last thing I have to say is "Why would our school do this to us?!"

I'm currently a senior in high school with the video cast and crew, and since before I was a freshman, we were required to take two years of a foreign language class in order to graduate. I was already taking Japanese lessons before I entered high school, because I apire to be a game artist and designer (The best companies, of course, are usually in Japan) so I asked if I could use that for my credit hours. They said no. So I had to quit those lessons so I could take up French my junior and senior year (Along with other after school activities I was already doing).  So here I am, sitting in my French class when all of a sudden my teacher said, "The Freshman of next year are NOT required to take a foriegn language class." Soooo I basicaly just wasted an hour every day for 2 years in a language class that will have no importance in my life for no reason. I also had to miss a FULL YEAR of an art class last year to make room for the stupid thing. In short, I just got screwed over.

Not that French isn't a cool language, but I personally have nothing to gain from learning it.

That's all I have, so Jeff, if you were disapointed, then oh well I guess :/.

Bye bye~ <3 Eizell

wonderful...just wonderful

It's time for some relaxingafter this long long winter. I got home recently and saw soem daffodils in bloom. This is a good sign because daffodils do not brave the cold very well. Or maybe it was chrisanthamums...is that even spelled right? oh well. I digress. In the end this means summer is soon approaching and i decided to take a break from all the work that i force myself to do.

My favorite place in the world to hang out onlin(other than nintendoboy.com of course) is www.Newgrounds.com. It is a great place with parodies, games, forums, blogs by creator Toim Fulp and other eccentricites. I will warn the faint of heart though: there are some weird things on ehre so be carefl wha tyou click on. Just observe with care cause there is reat entertainment for all ages from Alien Hominid to $00per NiN10doh. Speaking of which this is one particular parody that is hilarious. ngo ahead and check it out! i gave it a 5 of 5 and a 10 of 10. you will be laughing about ti for days. Again, it can be vulgar so i hope you aren't a binch of prude fools.

Another great site to visit when youa re bored is www.addictinggames.com. this plae is a good for passing the time when ou re waiting to be too tird to even care anymore. from lash FPS to strategy tower defense you can find every flash game here.

Finally is a reading place for when you dont' actually "crack open a book" and reaqd for real. there are a binch of comic sites you can melt your brain with. One place is mangavolume where there are tons of uploaded translated mangas for your perusal. Another great comic place called snafu-comics has a bunch of great online comics that are based on other movies and books. They have very unique plots though and vivid and wide range of choices to read. they are always updating and always open for new members for you artists out there. finally the one and only  MEGATOKYO. this is my favorite online comic that has gotten really weird and dramatic lately but still entertaining. It is a little long so if youar e going to try and catch up to me i suggest getting an easy chair and a laptop.   NOW if you have blogged all you can, responded to every forum, and beaten every game you can expand your online partnership with new and unique horizons with odd people and even weirder ideas.

ZOMG! (St. who? Part 2)

St. who?! St. Valentine! HAAAAAA! Get it?! Well, I'd be surprised if you did. It's a reference to a promise I made EXACTLY a year ago today! :D You can see this blog post (St. who?) by clicking on these words. However if you are of the lazy type and do not want to click the entry link, I'll quote myself from the post: "The next time you see it [the "You Touch My Heart" image] will be in 2009. That of course is if my stuff is successful and my site will live to see the day. Heh... Ew, kinda nervous now." Ahhhh! Do you see why I am so ZOMG!?? We made it. :) Our site HAS lived to see the day!! Isn't it amazing? Who woulda thought that a year later from that blog post I'd be writing about this in which you are reading now? Ha! Sure we don't have many videos and they are subpar (lol), but heeyyyy, you still come back to the site, right?! We ARE cool, yes?!?! Haha. I am quite pleased with myself, the site, and the people who help make it possible, including the visitors who read this! Yay! :D Happy Valentine's Day! I hope yours (or Single's Awareness Day) was fantastic. I know mine was. :]]] I literally love you guys... thanks for continuing to support the site, even just by reading my words I type. :] While I didn't have time to get around to making a V-Day NintendoBoy video, I do have something better... a love song with Mario Kart lyrics! This is a famous video on YouTube with over 2 million videos, so you may of seen it, but if not, you are in for a treat! I have this song on my iPod... not even kidding. Amazing music, and the lyrics are just fantastic; if you love Mario Kart, you will get very smiley from this. :]] Enjoy, and thanks for staying with the site everyone! ZOMG... I can't believe we are still around...! x)
