Everything That Rises Must Be #1.3

Whew, so much updates going on. Well, I'd just like to get this all down on paper to keep me on track here. Feel free to comment! ^^ Heh well anyway, here's the first big update... MESSAGE BOARD!

A new project so big it gets it's own domain name! That's right, nintendoboyforums.com is our new community center. It just opened, so I need your help to bring it to life. Who knows, I may be lurking there too!

Second order of business... I have cleaned up the films page... finally, that place was a mess. I decided to not host the videos here because they are too big so I'll just link to YouTube. Also, you can now download the videos for your viewing pleasure without the internet, or perhaps on your portable device; it's your choice, really.

And third item, which is actually bigger than the second, but eh, whose counting? The third point is the new Nintendo section of the site, a sort of re-make of the old Radar: Nintendo page. Actually, the concept is really different, but again, who are you to complain?  Hopefully that will be filled with Nintendo goodies in part with my good ol' visitors. *whisper* That's you!

Okay, so last but certainly not least... episode #1.3. The script is done and filming will begin on Saturday, and hopefully some editing will take place the following morning. Here's the deal people: I want to see #1.3 as much as you do, so here's the date: December 30th, 2007, 8 P.M. EST. You shall see a coundown thingy on the films page. Yep, I know I've been beating around the bush with the date, but I'm not kidding this time. I want to release this before we step into 2008. Speaking of that, hope to see you there!

Review the Reviews

Hello all! I hope you all enjoyed your holidays... I know I did!  Anyway, I've been hard at work at some new features for the site, and I am happy to say that I have finally made one of those features public...

[update: this feature was discontinued]

That's right, let's get some good user based content going! That being said, I have decided to not have a staff team at the moment mainly because of the fact that I do not want to be overwhelmed! Ever since I announced the staff idea, I've gotten over 100 emails asking about it. I figure I didn't want to pick and choose, so for now, go ahead and get some reviews going to get your content noticed! We get many visitors each day guys! We had 300 people come on Christmas... geez, on Christmas! Well anyway, I hope to release a bunch of new features in the coming days, and here is one of them. I hope you enjoy this feature. I can't wait to read some awesome reviews! You can access these feature and many more (coming soon) all on the community page! Head over there now!

Nintendo Boy wants YOU!

Hello again! Sorry for the extreme downtime early this week. My hosting provider freewebs decided to mess around with templates, resulting in the corruption of my old dark green one. That's why you are seeing the new look! I hope you like it, it took awhile to adjust to my site. I've upgraded to a new cleaner, wider template for all you people with fancy wide screens! Tell me what you think! Anyway, what this update is really about is to officially announce the beginning of the application process for "staff". Here's a rundown of the info:

I am looking for about 5 excellently skilled people in a certain area.

Reviews:

  • Wii

  • DS

  • Virtual Console

  • and Nintendo Accessories

Comics:

  • Comics

  • Everything will be sent to me - as of now, you have no access to edit the actual site.

  • We will merge websites! - www.yournamehere.nintendoboy.com

  • Have admin access to certain hidden projects

  • Post your own updates - have your own page on the site

  • Email: name@nintendoboy.com (coming soon)

  • must be able to frequently access reliable internet access

Think of me as Dr. House and you applicants as my team. So, again, I need you to have a site, want to do well, merge your site with mine (you can still keep your freewebs site/account and such), and other such things.

Please comment HERE on this blog to let me know if you're interested. I can make exceptions to the requirements, just leave your mark here for now. Leave your site URL & email - if I'm interested in YOU you shall receive an email. Thanks guys! NintendoBoy.com! Woo hoo!

3,400

That is the approximate number of people who have visited in December so far. Wow. And yes, that number counts "unique visitors", so don't think I just sit at home pressing "refresh" all day on my site... *shifty eyes* Haha, so anyway, yes, that is all lot of people. Unfortunately, out of all those people, not everyone is nice. When I say they are not nice, I mean they leave nasty comments, constantly spam the areas where you can post (usually with their own website), and so on. And to all you good people out there, I thank you, and therefore I'd like to protect your safety on this site. So here's what is going to happen:

First and foremost, I will re-think where I place "comment boxes" around the site. I am only one guy, and can not monitor everything 24/7. Also, there are some people who keep coming to my site to rear their ugly head. First off, if you keep advertising your site on mine, many will think you are desperate for visitors for your site, however I am touched to have you advertise on my site, thinking many people will come... you have the right idea. But, I don't allow it. Sorry, not trying to be mean, but it's my site, not yours to spam. If this keeps happening, I will gladly make a "Wall of Shame" consisting of the people (And their websites - aka don't go there) who keep spamming by trying to steal my visitors. Again, I do not mind that you advertise in my guestbook (so I can look at yours and perhaps leave a comment), but please do so only once.

*sigh* Ah, that was a good rant. Please keep the comments coming, whether positive or negative, just don't leave crap that no one else wants to see. I like constructive criticism (for example on my films), but don't shoot me down. Unless you make your own films and have a nice site, do not insult me, because odds are you can't do what I do. Either way, thanks for coming to my site.

Also, another thing, some people have asked me whether I look at your comments. The answer is yes, I read every single comment posted on my site, including YouTube comments. That in mind, make your comments good lol! Remember, if you need to contact me, use the correct form and I shall respond to you... if I can. (Did you know that over 30% of forms I get have an invalid/fake email?) Haha.

So, um, on a lighter note... hmmm, is that a new release date for #1.3 I see on the FILMS page?? (That's right, the script is in progress and will release this month!!) Also, I would like to hear your comments on the Radar: Nintendo section... I like how it's going but I'd like to build so much more for that page.

Anyway, WOO, that was a long post. But hey, thanks to you if you read it all... in fact, have a cookie:

You guys rock. Thanks for coming to nintendoboy.com!

Nintendo Radar - Pokemon Snap returns!

Note: Hello there! You have stumbled on another hidden blog post.

Enjoy the archive as the radar checks for another news post...!

Coming to a Wii VC Channel near you, December 10th (North America)

Article by Jeffrey Vega (Nintendo Boy)

Ah yes, Pokemon Snap! Don't you all remember it? Such a fun game, and I still have it for my perfectly working N64! Therefore I am conflicted whether to get this again. However you may think, well if I have it, then I shouldn't spend 1,000 Wii Points ($10 USD) to get it again. There is some new stuff worth mentioning...

Here's some good info: "Nintendo will be enhancing the original game by allowing users to take snapshots and save them to allow for posting online via your message board. Other players will be able to check out your Pokemon hunting skills and admire your photography." -GoNintendo

Holy macaroni! That is awesome! Do you remember the good ol' days where you could take your save pack to Blockbuster and have your photos printed on these neat little sticker sheets? Does anyone else remember that? Haha.

Well, this looks like a neat buy. Makes me wish I hadn't got Snap for N64 as I had bought it at Blockbuster (used) for $10 while the N64 began to slowly fade away.

There was just something to this game that was so addicting...

Well Pokefans, I want to hear your thoughts on this!

Thanks for reading.

Thank you for-a visiting my site!

Hello there! Another update from nintendoboy.com. Wow, I really don't know how or why, but my site has received so much traffic this past month and I'm too happy to even express my thoughts! As the month of November finishes up, my site has gotten a little over 7,300 hits in just a month, from all over the world. No kidding (well most was from U.S., but still, got some UK visitors, Italy vistors, etc.). Very cool. The feedback of my latest video (#1.2) is so great and even better than the first. I plan to release #1.3 (the last of ep.1) sometime at the end of the year or early next year -- the wait will be worth it, I promise. Anyway again, I'd just like to thank everyone who has been on my site, and have come back for more! I plan to keep supplying new content often, so don't be shy to come back! Oh thing I forgot to add was that I got an email from freewebs (my hosting service) and they said they love my website and they would like to promote on the "explore the best sites" page on freewebs.com. I thought, well isn't that neat? Free promotions, and more and more visitors have come to my site. The most popular hit are the videos, which is good because that's the center of the site. Speaking of other things actually, I have been working on some side projects for 'The Nintendo Boy Project'. Remember the QUEST EVENTS page I had up for a while? Well, I am finally getting around that under a new name and idea. It's still a working progress and I hope to have it live by the end of December. You can however check out the intro by clicking the link "Adventure Plot" on the left-hand navigation bar!

Oh yeah, and also I am fixing up the lounge... again, for the better! Keep an eye out for that update soon!

Well, I think that's it. Remember, if you're new to the site, please go sign the guestbook! I like to see who comes and goes, and I'd like a bunch of signatures!

Thanks again! I really appreciate you visiting my site and would love to hear from you sometime! Go Nintendo! ^^

Nintendo Radar - Black Friday

Note: Hello there! Hmm, you found a secret unannounced blog post. Ah yes, well I'm simply archiving one my old radars, so the formatting might be messy!  Enjoy!

BLACK FRIDAY

NOVEMBER 23RD

What's up this week? Why, Black Friday of course! Not sure what that is? Read this quick excerpt from wikipedia...

Black Friday is the day after  Thanksgiving and is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season in the United States . Since Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, Black Friday may be as early as the 23rd and as late as the 29th day of November. Retailers often decorate for the Christmas season weeks beforehand. Many retailers open very early (typically 5 A.M.) and offer doorbuster deals and loss leaders to draw people to their stores. Although Black Friday, as the first shopping day after Thanksgiving, has served as the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season at least since the start of the modern Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, the term "Black Friday" has been traced back only to the 1970s. "Black Friday" was originally so named because of the heavy traffic on that day, although most contemporary uses of the term refer instead to it as the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit).

So, yeah, I'm sure you know about this, but may not of known there was a name of it. Or maybe you have. Oh well.

I particularly enjoy this shopping event for waking up at 5 A.M. to fight the crowds and see what deals can be taken. So, I've gathered a few things of interest (Nintendo stuff, obviously) that have caught my eye and it may interest you as well.

Wow, these are some nice limited edition DSs at Best Buy! If I had money I might upgrade my DS Phat to that shiny gold Zelda DS! Friday & Saturday only!

Hmm, this seems like a good deal. This was a snapshot taken at a KB Toys store, and but 1 get 1 free doesn't seem like a bad deal.

However, where the heck is the nearest KB Toys?

This comes with:

  • Wii

  • Two Wiimotes

  • Two nunchucks

  • Super Paper Mario

  • Mario Party 8

  • Brunswick Pro Bowling

From 5 to 7 AM you'll only be able to purchase one per customer, but after that you can grab as many as you want. This is an online deal at samsclub.com, but not price was announced.

*GASP*! $35 for SUPER MARIO GALAXY at Circuit City? Wow, makes me wish I hadn't pre-ordered/bought it already. Oh well, I'd probably wouldn't be able to wait that long anyway. Ha, but this is a steal.

Spr- Winter Cleaning? + SiteService

Okay, so my site is new and just getting off the ground, but boy oh boy does my site seem very messy. I think my weekend project will be cleaning up some areas of the site that will look better and will be easier to navigate for you. Keep on the look for gradual changes to some pages! Also, here's something to keep you interested: Wish you could have your own website? For personal use, or maybe for your club or something? Do you want a nice site with no advertisements, and even your own ".com" name? Want your own chat rooms, photo albums, and much much more? Well, I would like to introduce "NintendoBoy SiteService"! That's right, your own website about whatever you want. Our basic premium packages start off at $30 a year. Just $30 a year for your website. Seriously, think of the possibilities! Contact me if you're interested (a 'more info' page will be released in the coming days).

Stay tuned!

Some new stuff...?

.. eh, kinda. Hello again! Erm, let's see, I'm sure you know by know that I have pushed back the date for #1.2. Yeah, sorry, I know, there are actually a lot people of bugging me for the next episode, but I won't be able to release when I said, which was today... Don't worry, the script is almost done, and I am possibly looking into using a different camera for filming, so if you're out there (and you know me obviously), drop me a comment!

Um, anyway, as for as the site goes, I've been working hard on a new community page which I hope to release later today actually. And, yes, I will be having the forums here again instead of proboards (if you've been wondering because those forums are done). So, once that happens, there should be a lot more activity on this sorta dead site. After all, the community is the basis of this site.

Also, keep on the look out for a big site community event with the tentative title of "NB Adventure". Heh, yep, the surprises are coming! If you want to become a member here, visit back in a little bit and you'll get the opportunity! Anyway, thanks again for reading!
