Enhancements to the Site

Hey everyone!! Whew, when was the last time we had a nice site feature update? You have to admit though, the site has come a long way!! Anyway, I've finally gotten around to cleaning up some things and adding little things here and there, as well as my webhost Webs adding new features to the forums! If you are regular visitor, you may slash may not have noticed some things already, but either way... let's take a look at some bullets! :D

  • Okay, so you probably have noticed an advertisement on the SideBar. Yeahhhh! It's been there for a while, and it's actually racking in some money. Slowly, but surely, we'll get there. :) Help the site out by clicking the ads, or even check out our webstore! (yes, we have one)

  • Remember that blog post a while back about my hatred for Internet Explorer? I complained about a glitch on the About Us page that only showed up in IE. Well, I finally solved that problem by placing the images in a table, so now that page is finally cross-browser friendly.

  • The Video Theater has received some small tweaks so that the video descriptions on the site match exactly on the YouTube direct video page (that took a while!!). The YouTube description boxes now have links to the site for the comics (1.1-1.3)! Also, as a nice added bonus in the Video Theater that every NB video now has a link to the blog post that accompanied it when it was released. I think that's pretty cool, huh? It shows how much we've evolved, plus showed what I was blabbing about at the time of the videos!

Woahhh... okay, so I think I defeated the purpose of bullets by writing a little TOO much. Haha, sorry! I'm sure you guys get the idea. Speaking of the last bullet, a new video, is on the way in the next few days. I'm not kidding!! Last week was a failure, but this weekend we will be filming, and we hopefully will be soon adding another fantastic COUGH video to our Sketch Comedy gallery.

Until that new video, see you then. Have a fabulous weekend!! :)

Written by: jinxsprinkles999

NIntendoboy and Jinx have had many meetings conferences brainstorm meetings and such our brains have run away fror a vacation. I do not have very much of an idea of what exactly it will be about but we are finally going to film the next video. We are actually writing a script, introducing plot (maybe), and introducing new characters! Do not look for it this weekend cause that is when we will be working on it but keep an eye out for it this next week. On top of that we have our new comics by Eizell. Thats all i have time to say this coming week should be full of fun and laughs. Have a great weekend!

[Edit - March 1st, 2009: technical difficulties]

Because of weather, plagarists, writer's block, and lack of funds the internetdinosaur site will be going under serious reconstructions and reinforcement and there willl not be a new video, comic or any update for that matter. F*#! you Clear Vision Comics and "the-most-awkward-website-name-to remember-ever-because-of-length". I censor myself for the kids. :3

Yay!

Written by: Eizell

Okay! So.

Since Jeff keeps insisting that I post a blog on this site, I've dicided to do so!

I guess to start off with is telling you all who in the heck I am, right? My name is Ellie, but online I usually go by Eizell. I honestly don't care what you decide to refer to me as, so don't feel obligated to call me by one or the other.

I haven't been on this site for to long but from what I've observed, there's hardly any activity, if any. Since I even joined this site, I haven't really seen any new topics aside from maybe two or three.

BUT! Sooner or later (hopefully sooner) I'll have the first strip of the new Nintendo Boy adventures comic ready to be posted on here somewhere (Where ever Jeff wants to put it). It's looking like the strips will stay as pencil sketched comics for a while since I currently don't have Photoshop and I'm too lazy/busy to ink and color it. Not to mention all my micron pens and Prisma markers are all dried up and dying :<

Annnnnd I guess the last thing I have to say is "Why would our school do this to us?!"

I'm currently a senior in high school with the video cast and crew, and since before I was a freshman, we were required to take two years of a foreign language class in order to graduate. I was already taking Japanese lessons before I entered high school, because I apire to be a game artist and designer (The best companies, of course, are usually in Japan) so I asked if I could use that for my credit hours. They said no. So I had to quit those lessons so I could take up French my junior and senior year (Along with other after school activities I was already doing).  So here I am, sitting in my French class when all of a sudden my teacher said, "The Freshman of next year are NOT required to take a foriegn language class." Soooo I basicaly just wasted an hour every day for 2 years in a language class that will have no importance in my life for no reason. I also had to miss a FULL YEAR of an art class last year to make room for the stupid thing. In short, I just got screwed over.

Not that French isn't a cool language, but I personally have nothing to gain from learning it.

That's all I have, so Jeff, if you were disapointed, then oh well I guess :/.

Bye bye~ <3 Eizell

wonderful...just wonderful

Written by: jinxsprinkles999

It's time for some relaxingafter this long long winter. I got home recently and saw soem daffodils in bloom. This is a good sign because daffodils do not brave the cold very well. Or maybe it was chrisanthamums...is that even spelled right? oh well. I digress. In the end this means summer is soon approaching and i decided to take a break from all the work that i force myself to do.

My favorite place in the world to hang out onlin(other than nintendoboy.com of course) is www.Newgrounds.com. It is a great place with parodies, games, forums, blogs by creator Toim Fulp and other eccentricites. I will warn the faint of heart though: there are some weird things on ehre so be carefl wha tyou click on. Just observe with care cause there is reat entertainment for all ages from Alien Hominid to $00per NiN10doh. Speaking of which this is one particular parody that is hilarious. ngo ahead and check it out! i gave it a 5 of 5 and a 10 of 10. you will be laughing about ti for days. Again, it can be vulgar so i hope you aren't a binch of prude fools.

Another great site to visit when youa re bored is www.addictinggames.com. this plae is a good for passing the time when ou re waiting to be too tird to even care anymore. from lash FPS to strategy tower defense you can find every flash game here.

Finally is a reading place for when you dont' actually "crack open a book" and reaqd for real. there are a binch of comic sites you can melt your brain with. One place is mangavolume where there are tons of uploaded translated mangas for your perusal. Another great comic place called snafu-comics has a bunch of great online comics that are based on other movies and books. They have very unique plots though and vivid and wide range of choices to read. they are always updating and always open for new members for you artists out there. finally the one and only  MEGATOKYO. this is my favorite online comic that has gotten really weird and dramatic lately but still entertaining. It is a little long so if youar e going to try and catch up to me i suggest getting an easy chair and a laptop.   NOW if you have blogged all you can, responded to every forum, and beaten every game you can expand your online partnership with new and unique horizons with odd people and even weirder ideas.

ZOMG! (St. who? Part 2)

St. who?! St. Valentine! HAAAAAA! Get it?! Well, I'd be surprised if you did. It's a reference to a promise I made EXACTLY a year ago today! :D You can see this blog post (St. who?) by clicking on these words. However if you are of the lazy type and do not want to click the entry link, I'll quote myself from the post: "The next time you see it [the "You Touch My Heart" image] will be in 2009. That of course is if my stuff is successful and my site will live to see the day. Heh... Ew, kinda nervous now." Ahhhh! Do you see why I am so ZOMG!?? We made it. :) Our site HAS lived to see the day!! Isn't it amazing? Who woulda thought that a year later from that blog post I'd be writing about this in which you are reading now? Ha! Sure we don't have many videos and they are subpar (lol), but heeyyyy, you still come back to the site, right?! We ARE cool, yes?!?! Haha. I am quite pleased with myself, the site, and the people who help make it possible, including the visitors who read this! Yay! :D Happy Valentine's Day! I hope yours (or Single's Awareness Day) was fantastic. I know mine was. :]]] I literally love you guys... thanks for continuing to support the site, even just by reading my words I type. :] While I didn't have time to get around to making a V-Day NintendoBoy video, I do have something better... a love song with Mario Kart lyrics! This is a famous video on YouTube with over 2 million videos, so you may of seen it, but if not, you are in for a treat! I have this song on my iPod... not even kidding. Amazing music, and the lyrics are just fantastic; if you love Mario Kart, you will get very smiley from this. :]] Enjoy, and thanks for staying with the site everyone! ZOMG... I can't believe we are still around...! x)

The Art of Humor

Written by: Andrew Shain

Now most people ask: How did Jeff get to be so funny? This Article is all about how not only Jeff, but humor in general works. It was a long and extensive research process but I think I finally have narrowed down the four components to being funny.  Of course this article is coming from the least funny person in the videos, but hey, we all can't be Bruce Willis! The components are...

1) Timing - First you don't ever want to have bad timing. It's the most important of them all, even more so than the joke itself. You do not want to tell a joke at a funeral for instance (trust me), they will call you stupid and kick you out. The appropriate timing is between 1-5 seconds after someone has set you up for the joke, any earlier and you will look like a chiming-in turd. And later and people will say you have bad timing.

2) Material - This is the actually Joke. This consists of the Set-Up and Punch-line. Set-ups can get a bit lengthy thats why you should always try and shorten the set-up as much as possible. The Punch-line should have a funniness factor of 4:1 minimum (see wikipedia's "Funny Factor, Section 5, Page E7)

3) Delivery - This correlates to your timing, this and how you express the joke. Laugh, or at least chuckle) when you say the funny part so they know when to laugh, however do not laugh hard enough that no one can hear you.

4) Audience - Don't tell Jew jokes to Holocaust survivors.

This all being said, you can just do what Jeff does and plagiarize all of your jokes from Family Guy, Futurama, or the Simpsons. This and stealing all of my ideas/jokes will get you far in life and you too can be just like Jeff and wind up somehow with your own successful website! (Please, invest in my upside-down hair! It's the only thing I still have to my name!)

upcoming to nintendoboy.com!

Written by: jinxsprinkles999

Hey guys jinx here!

Since there seems to be a little confusion abotu when out next video is and other random updates im here to clarify some coudy subjects. Jeff is disclosing the time when he makes the next video so we will jsut have to wait. I mean im like second in command and I don't know when this thing is going to made. In case the other admins were aondering i about myrank: I am only being sarcastic about how vague the date of makig this video really is im not actually second in command. Anyway the videoo date is disclosed due to unknown reasons 9_9 .

A new and excting feature that should actually be up within the month is an online comic of nintendo boy and his sidekick jinx. yes! an online comic! the bet part is that these are new adventures that you cannot see in theat... i mean videos!

Another subject that will be discussed at will is an ethics page only because Jeff and I have been arguing ovwr this for the past day. I will open a forum section over this question soon so that i can finally figure out who has the better argument. I don't know. could you please help me!?

otherwise enjoi the site!

Woes on Internet Explorer

Hello all! A quick, but rather important update, is the addition of the new 'About Us' page. This page, finally gives full credit to anyone who has helped been a part of this site. If you wanted to know about us, but found out that I was too lazy to make a page for it, I now have your remedy! This page continues to serve as the page where we can be contacted, with a live chat and a link to everyone's profiles. Soooo... check that out! :) I spent a while into making that page perfect to have all the random stuff you could want to know about us, on that page. GET IT? ABOUT US? Ha! So yeah... take a look at it, we are pretty interesting! So yes, a lot of time has gone into to that page (haha.. you're probably thinking by now "I GET IT"). Sadly, it has come to my attention that my work (at time of writing) is currently in vain... on Internet Explorer. UGH. Words can not express my deep, deep hatred for this browser, so I won't even try to tell you. Sure, we've all began with it, and used it, and blah blah, but... once I found out about Firefox... I could not believe what I was missing. That being said, Firefox is defiinitely my choice browser, and I happily build my site on it. And if it wasn't obvious, of course the site looks amazing in FF, as it was built for it. Internet Explorer = No. Just, no. Firefox = Yes. I'm also a big fan of Google's Chrome, which is incredibly fast (you... really have no idea how fast it actually is), and also Opera is good too, but I just leave that one to Wii-related browsing! :] Ok, so enough ranting...

On the 'About Us' page, I have an area where I list who has done what for the project, complete with our good-looking photos, which actually link to the respective profile on the site! Now.. if you're on FF right now, you'll know that it looks pretty great and that you think I've done a great job. Thank you, reader! :D HOWEVER, on IE, which sadly is still the most-used browser ever, looks like complete crap. On IE, instead of showing the grid I created to organize the photos of us, it just organizes the photos horizontally, which goes behind the sidebar and way past the window screen of your computer and stretches the screen on the right; it's quite horrendous-looking, and you can't even click on the photos behind the sidebar. UGH. Just... so many problems. And I really have no idea how to fix this to where it is the way I want it to show... looks perfect in FF, but bleh on IE. :( [EDIT: FEBRUARY 27TH, 2009- Problem fixed! I just used a table. :/ Haha!] It's almost impossible to make your site compatible in every browser! :( Can't we all just get along and use one browser?!?!?!11ONE1!??!?!? :]

quickie!!

Written by: jinxsprinkles999

Quick and exciting update about some games and music i have recently seen and/or reviewed. For you RPG fans there are some amazing games out for grabs for DS. I'm all about handheld since thats al i can afford. I know we may abe a little old but if youare interested Pokemon Platinum is out and ready to be ordered. It should be intene with all new pokemon to collect legendaries to fin AND EVOLVE =). I know right and you that manaphy was hard enough to get. Anyway next on our newcomer list is for you Final Fantasy Crystal Cronicals: Ring of Fates, Final Fantasy IV, and FINAL FANTASY TACTICS A2! As a fan of tactics gaes like fire emblem and Advanced Wars I believe that FFTA2 will be amazing but all to their own. All of these games are expected to be amazing if you decide to invest some money into them. Finally is a Wii game tat I recently played and is a lit of un. If youare a little mischievious and greedy you can relate to our good evil twin of Mario: Wario. In WarioLand: Shake it! you shake only the controller vertically to control ario to new 2d and vibrantlevels and shake the controller for special extra moves, shake enemies like crazy, and other antics to get yourself as many coins as possible for greedy Warios or yourself(if that were possible. Finall is our music of odds and ends. I recently bought a CD for a unique group called Flight of the Concords(or FotC for now). FotC is a duo from New Zealand who sings comedic music but might be a little obscene if youare too young but stilll funny so don't let parents hear xD. I am not comerciallizing this site you can even hear thes guys for free on youtube or mooch off somebody for the games. I was jut overwhelemed with how behind i am in gaming because of school and all the other crap i have to deal with. if you wanna hear flight of the concerds here is an example song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGoi1MSGu64

Just copy paste on to your searchengine cause i suck at getting my computer to get this to work.  I dont mean to oveshadow Jeff's interview so make sure to check out that interview on Nathan's site. :)

Adam/Vega

I am pretty cool... well, not that cool. But apparently, cool enough to get the attention of one of our affiliates, Nathan Adam's Smile. Yeah, that's right, a blog post about affiliates! Haven't you seen that "new" update next to the affiliates link on the sidebar? (I've used "affiliate" 3 times now) ... make sure you check out that page, and even apply if that's your cup of tea! Anyway, Nathan has asked for a quick little interview about my take on the Nintendo world, hence the title... you do get it, right?! The title is a reference to a movie I have recently seen, which is now pretty much my favorite, Frost/Nixon! :]

That being said... it's an interview! Do you even know what my "favorites" are, as far as Nintendo goes? Yeah, I didn't think so. ;] Well, now you can find out! Nathan is a great pal of mine who lives in Australia (he is probably sleeping as I write this), and he loves the site, and even works with Laura for getting his own comic art. So, as a visitor, I ask you to support him (along with my other affiliates of course!!), and visit his site, now with this exclusive interview with me! :D I feel so special! Haha. Here's a quick snippet to get you excited!

"Uhh, well from #1.1-1.3, all the way to the latest video, Rock Band Documentary (at time of writing), I really don't write a script for it. I literally gather the group for a Saturday and just film... or at least for the projects I call "Improvisational Videos," which are basically just random videos with no structure. Haha, it doesn't sound as bad as it does, as of course I do have some idea I want to accomplish. Just recently I've been working on an actual script for a new series of videos, but that's a secret for now."
